Nomis Connections is a complete communication service for businesses providing an extensive range of fixed and mobile phone services all accessible from a simple to use web portal.
On initial inspection and review Nomis Connections appears to be fantastic value given the flat rate pricing advertised at £11.99 per user, per month. With that price you get the expected feature list including hold, transfer and conference calling along with access to auto attendant and voicemail to email transcription.
Beyond those basic services you can expect to pay additional costs as premium add-on features for things like call recording and call whisper, live monitor, etc.
While it may seem like a downside that some features are bucked to a premium buy, the services you do receive are backed by Gamma, one of the most respected names in VoIP in the United Kingdom. The service does come with a very sleek and easy to use dashboard provided by Gamma, along with PC and smartphone applications that give you extended mobility of the fully-managed service.
The reduced up front cost, plus buy in for add-on features does make it moderately scalable as small to midsized businesses continue to grow. Likewise, Nomis Connections makes it clear that they’re always working to add new features and as new features come online they’re made immediately available to all users – this is designed to future-proof your service.
The plug-and-play nature of fully hosted VoIP services means that setup can be completed in minutes. Once you setup your account with Nomis Connections and have your credentials ready you can log in to the Horizon dashboard to begin configuring your account.
The Horizon is one of the slickest all-inclusive web portals I’ve seen for managing a VoIP solution. It was refreshing to see a simple interface for setting up call routing rules, the auto-attendant and configuring individual user profiles.
All of this is backed up by video tutorials that show you step by step how to make changes and manage your VoIP account.
Video is one of the most helpful teaching tools when it comes to software tutorials and Nomis Connections has partners with Gamma to bring a full suite of support and tutorial videos to the user. Likewise new users have access to an FAQ and support center. If the solution to a problem isn’t available on the site there is a ticket system for submitting trouble calls.
Customer service can also be reached by calling one of 7 local offices or by submitting a call back request on the website for when support is available.
The web portal common to fully cloud-based solutions means you can manage, configure and oversee your account from anywhere. That includes call monitoring and inbound/outbound calls. The service also offers softphone capability so a laptop would let you take your workstation anywhere with you.
If you want more mobility, such as with iOS or Android applications, you’ll need to pay extra as those are premium added features. If you do add them, the applications act just like a desk phone at your office – masked Caller ID, forwarding, conferencing, call recording and more.
Nomis Connections doesn’t just resell the Gamma service, they have built a business around creating affordable packages for their customers that make it easy for them to scale their business and grow. I can see past the limitation on some features given the low per user, per month price of the service.
