Grasshopper is a well-known VoIP solution provider with all the frills, but without all the costs seen in other industry brands.
A standout bonus for Grasshopper is the most basic plan they offer at just $12.00 per month with a “pay as you go” on the minutes. Instead of buying a more expensive bundled package you can buy in cheaply and only pay for the minutes you use.
They’re also one of a select few VoIP providers that provide additional incoming lines at no extra cost on their higher tier plans – something that more VoIP providers really need to offer.
The plans increase based on the number of minutes you’re looking for with $12.00 pay you go pricing, a “Ramp” plan that provides 500 minutes per month at $24, a “Grow” plan with 2,000 minutes per month at $49 and a “Max” plan with 10,000 minutes per month for $199. There’s no per-user pricing here so the monthly plan rate is what it is.
Grasshopper also deserves kudos for making the bulk of features available at most of the plan packages so even with the Ramp or Grow plan you have access to just about all the features. The plan perks come into to play with additional toll free numbers and access to the voice studio in the highest plan.
Last but certainly not least, there’s no contract and no annual sign up necessary to get cheaper monthly rates. Grasshopper prices itself low already, including a zero-fee setup.
Grasshopper isn’t exactly the long-term VoIP solution you’ll see with other providers. It’s geared more toward the small business startup or entrepreneur. While the features being offered are industry-standard and presented terrifically, it’s not really set up to scale when a business grows to the point where you have multi-user call centers, diverse queues and a complex phone tree.
For businesses with a high growth ceiling and a lot of potential to expand, this can be a great starting point but you’ll likely need to keep in mind that a switch to a more comprehensive VoIP provider may be necessary down the road.
Grasshopper is extremely simple to establish and use. Setup is as simple as choosing a number for your business then setting up a customer greeting message. You can add simple department options or implement call forwarding to a mobile device and you’re ready to start receiving calls.
Their service is designed to be easy for a business owner or entrepreneur with a limited budget – that means there’s no extra expensive equipment to purchase or lease. Unlike other VoIP phones that require internet-ready phones and modems/routers the Grasshopper service worked directly with whatever mobile device you’re using to make and receive calls. That makes management and setup easier than ever.
Grasshopper advertises 24/7 customer support that utilizes a knowledge base and ticket system to help try to find answers to common tech-related questions first. If the support portal doesn’t provide you with the answers you need you can submit a trouble ticket to the team or contact Grasshopper using the provided toll free number.
Grasshopper was designed for mobility – for the small business owner and entrepreneur that is always on the go. With the included apps available for download in both Google Play and the Apple Store you can easily manage and use your VoIP account with your mobile device no matter where you go.
No matter your needs, Grasshopper can help you get a professional business line that works exactly where you work. It’s an ideal VoIP solution for mobile users. The app even keeps your mobile number private so calls made through the app will allow you to show your Grasshopper caller ID as opposed to your mobile number. If you have multiple lines you can choose which number will display on the targets caller ID.
Grasshopper is the VoIP phone solution you need if you want to run your business from your cellular device. It’s an affordable, feature-rich offering that simplifies VoIP without any loss in features while cost is reduced.
